About Coach Jason Weisberg
Jason Weisberg joined the Iona College Women's soccer program as an assistant coach during the 2006 season.
In their 2009 season the Gaels finished 3rd in the MAAC conference at the end of the regular season marking their best finish in over fifteen years.
Weisberg comes to New Rochelle after serving as the assistant coach of the Division I Manhattan College men's soccer program. He was previously at Division II Dominican College, where he was an assistant from 2002 to 2004 and helped the team to the CACC Conference Championship in 2002. Dominican reached the CACC semi-finals in 2003 and were conference champions again in 2004.
Weisberg is a member of the Region 1 ODP coaching staff and has been on the staff for the ENYYSA Olympic Development (ODP) Program as a head coach on the boys and girls sides since 2002. He was a former director of coaching for Middlepath/Yorktown FC Jaguars, NY girls' premier soccer club for six years, preparing over 200 players to play collegiate soccer at the highest levels and now has moved on to coach with top-ranked Albertson SC on Long Island. Weisberg has also coached teams in the Super "Y" League and is now coaching at Manhattan Soccer Club in NYC.
Weisberg holds a USSF "A" license and an NSCAA Premier Diploma which he did in Curitiba, Brazil in May 2005, the first U.S. coaching course ever given in Brazil. Weisberg recently was a part of another soccer first when he received the NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma (DOC) in Oct. 2005. This is the first DOC course ever given in the United States. He also is involved with U.S Soccer as an evaluator for their training centers. He has coached the Women's Open Team for Hudson Valley in the Empire State Games since 2002 as well as coaching with many youth clubs in the Westchester area. He played his collegiate soccer at Stony Brook University and had a stint with the Westchester Flames PDL. Weisberg graduated from Stony Brook in 1997 with a B.A. in psychology and holds a Masters degree in counseling Psychology from PACE University. Weisberg and his wife Jill, currently reside in New Rochelle, NY with their two children Sophie and Gavin.
